The Truck: What I'm starting with.

I bought the pickup a few months ago from a friend. It was a farm parts getter. The body overall is in very good shape for an 82. It is a white GMC 1/2 ton short wide bed. The passenger door was hit (probably a parking lot accident). Nothing around the door was touched. The door was repaired and repainted. I want an original non repaired door so I bought a replacement. The drivers side front fender was dented when the front tire came apart on the highway (I have a replacement). The transmission (700r4) was recently rebuilt and has about a hundred miles on it. The injector pump was rebuilt and head gaskets replaced about a year ago. Nothing else done to the engine (6.2 diesel) as far as I know. The odometer shows about 130,000 miles. The interior is blue. Windows and locks are manual (will be changed to power). The rearend is a limited slip, and is original. I will open it up soon and look it over. I drove the pickup home about 3 weeks ago and haven't driven it since. I have ripped out the interior (seat, carpet, door panels, headliner and headliner trim). My first project is to sound deaden the interior and put a new red interior back in. The next post will be about the sound deadening project and will include pictures.
